Position Summary The Dental Assistant is responsible for supporting the doctor in delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining efficient clinical flow throughout the day. This role requires excellent clinical skills, attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to anticipate the doctor's needs before they arise. Our Dental Assistants play a critical role in helping patients feel comfortable, educating them throughout their visit, maintaining a safe and organized clinical environment, and ensuring every patient has an outstanding experience. What You'll Do Clinical Support Prepare treatment rooms for all procedures. Seat patients promptly and prepare them for treatment. Assist the doctor during a wide variety of procedures including: Emergency treatment Extractions Root canals Fillings Crowns Dentures Full-mouth treatment Anticipate the doctor's needs to promote efficient procedures and reduce downtime. Take diagnostic radiographs in accordance with state regulations. Capture intraoral photographs and digital scans as needed. Record clinical notes and document treatment accurately. Provide post-operative instructions and reinforce patient education. Sterilization & Infection Control Clean, disinfect, and prepare operatories between patients. Sterilize instruments according to OSHA and CDC guidelines. Monitor sterilization equipment and maintain proper logs. Maintain an organized, stocked, and clean clinical environment. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report maintenance concerns promptly. Patient Experience Welcome patients with professionalism and compassion. Help patients feel comfortable during treatment. Clearly explain procedures and answer questions within your scope. Support patients throughout treatment and recovery. Reinforce home care and post-operative instructions. Team Responsibilities Work closely with doctors, EFDAs, Business Assistants, and Office Managers to keep the schedule productive and on time. Be flexible and willing to assist wherever needed throughout the office. Communicate professionally with all team members. Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a culture of accountability and teamwork. Qualifications Dental Assistant experience preferred. Current radiography license. Current CPR certification. Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Ability to remain calm under pressure while providing outstanding patient care.
