Overview At Drs. DeMarco, Tilkin and Powers Orthodontics we are seeking an orthodontic assistant to join our team! We are a busy, privately-owned orthodontic practice located in Silver Spring, MD. We have transformed smiles in our community for over 35 years! We are looking for a positive, outgoing individual with strong clinical hand-skills. Duties Provide excellent clinical and customer service Assist the Orthodontist with insertion and removal of orthodontic appliances Take full patient records (pano, ceph, photos, intraoral scan) Prepare appropriate chairside set-up for each appointment Chairside clean-up and sterilization of instruments Patient education related to orthodontic care and oral hygiene Review and modify clinical chart notes as needed Communicate effectively with parents/families regarding treatment progress Stock inventory and maintain organization of clinical area Requirements Certified Orthodontic Assistant in Maryland ( or willingness to become certified in orthodontics if you hold a Dental Assistant Certification ) Active Dental Radiation Technologist License Active CPR Certification Favorable Qualifications 1 year of previous Orthodontic Assisting experience Bilingual in Spanish Experience fabricating Essix retainers Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Paid time off Retirement plan Tuition reimbursement Work Location: In person
