Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Experienced Pediatric/Orthodontics Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities Assist pediatric and orthodontic patients during examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety at all times Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following strict infection prevention protocols Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and image quality while adhering to radiation safety standards Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, maintaining accurate and detailed documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Perform chairside assisting with procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry treatments Process dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and infection control policies to ensure clinical asepsis Support patient management by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and providing education on oral health care tailored for pediatric patients Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure seamless workflow using patient management software and other healthcare technology tools Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in pediatric dentistry or orthodontics is required; familiarity with general dentistry is highly valued Demonstrated proficiency in dental X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and clinical procedures such as oral surgery and endodontics Experience working with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for medical documentation and coding purposes In-depth understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a clinical setting Ability to communicate effectively with children and their families while maintaining professionalism and empathy Certification in dental assisting or related healthcare fields preferred; ongoing training in pediatric dentistry or orthodontics is a plus Join our team to bring your expertise to a vibrant practice dedicated to creating healthy smiles for children!
