Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including dental and medical history reviews, to develop personalized orthodontic treatment plans. Diagnose dental and skeletal irregularities using advanced medical imaging and dental diagnosis techniques. Design and implement effective orthodontic treatment strategies utilizing braces, aligners, retainers, and other appliances. Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care, including procedures such as dental extractions, oral surgery, or prosthodontics when necessary. Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws. Educate patients on treatment options, procedures, and post-treatment care to foster understanding and confidence. Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all clinical procedures. Stay current with advancements in orthodontics by participating in continuing education and training programs. Skills Extensive knowledge of orthodontic techniques, dental terminology, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice. Proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for managing patient records and treatment plans. Experience with four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency during clinical procedures. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles for treating younger patients effectively. Ability to perform complex procedures including dental implants, root canal therapy, oral surgery, and dental fabrication. Familiarity with medical imaging technology for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Excellent client communication skills to explain treatments clearly and build trust with patients of all ages.
