Role Description:
This is a dual role combining chairside dental assisting with front desk support. You will assist the dentist during procedures and also help manage scheduling, patient communication, and office administration. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and comfortable switching between clinical and administrative tasks throughout the day.
Clinical (Dental Assistant) Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist chairside during exams, fillings, extractions, crowns, and other procedures
- Prepare and sterilize instruments; set up and break down operatories before and after each appointment
- Take digital dental X-rays (periapical, bitewing, panoramic)
- Seat patients, review health history updates, and ensure patient comfort throughout treatment
- Follow all OSHA and CDC infection control and sterilization protocols
- Assist with inventory of clinical supplies and alert office manager when restocking is needed
- Answer calls, schedule appointments and other office responsibilities as directed.
- Support other tasks as directed
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Dental Assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited program — required
- Current California Dental Radiography (X-ray) certificate — required
- Current CPR/BLS certification — required
- 1+ year of dental assisting experience preferred (new grads with strong externship experience welcome)
- Prior front desk or dental administrative experience a plus
- Familiarity with dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar)
- Basic understanding of dental insurance verification and billing
- Friendly, professional, and dependable — you will be a key part of the patient experience
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced but organized office environment
- Bilingual skills a plus but not required
