We are seeking an experienced, friendly, and motivated Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing practice in Leesburg, Virginia. Position Summary The Orthodontic Assistant will work closely with the orthodontist and clinical team to support efficient patient care and provide a comfortable, positive experience for patients and their families. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to anticipate the needs of the doctor and clinical team. This position requires at least one year of prior experience working in an orthodontic setting. Responsibilities Greet and seat patients in a warm and professional manner Assist the orthodontist chairside during patient treatment Anticipate the orthodontist’s needs and prepare for each stage of treatment Remove and place archwires Perform iTero digital scans Prepare teeth prior to bonding procedures Take patient records, including X-rays and photographs Complete accurate and timely electronic charting Sterilize instruments, chairs, and clinical areas in accordance with applicable protocols Explain completed treatment and follow-up instructions to patients and parents Provide oral hygiene education and instructions Support smooth patient flow and collaborate with the clinical team throughout the day Qualifications At least one year of orthodontic assisting experience is required Friendly, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanor Strong work ethic and dependable attendance Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Strong communication and organizational skills Attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation Willingness to continue learning and developing professionally Ability to commute to our Leesburg, Virginia office Benefits Legacy Orthodontics offers a competitive benefits package for eligible full-time employees, including: 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Schedule This is a full-time, in-person position. The schedule generally includes approximately four patient-care days per week, with the possibility of one additional administrative day. Candidates may also have the option to work patient-care days only. Typical shifts may include: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Applicants must be available to work until 6:00 p.m. on designated patient-care days. The practice currently sees patients until 6:00 p.m. on select Mondays and Tuesdays.
