Dental Assistant – Howe Dental Care Location: Sacramento, CA Position: Dental Assistant Pay: Based on experience Schedule: Monday–Thursday, with occasional Fridays as needed About the Position Howe Dental Care is looking for a dependable, friendly, and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, stays organized, and helps create a comfortable and positive experience for our patients. The ideal candidate is a team player who can work efficiently in a busy dental office while maintaining a professional and welcoming attitude. We value reliability, strong communication, attention to detail, and a willingness to support both our patients and fellow team members. Previous dental assisting experience is preferred. Experience with Dentrix and SOTA Imaging is a plus. Schedule Our regular office schedule is: Monday: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM Tuesday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with a 1.5-hour lunch Fridays: Occasional Fridays may be needed and will be discussed and agreed upon in advance We are looking for someone who can reliably maintain this schedule and be a consistent part of our team. Responsibilities Responsibilities may include: Assisting the doctor during dental procedures Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring they are properly set up for scheduled procedures Taking and processing dental X-rays as permitted Cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing instruments and equipment Following proper infection control and sterilization protocols Turning over treatment rooms efficiently between patients Maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked operatories Reviewing the daily schedule and preparing for upcoming procedures Providing patients with a friendly and comfortable experience Communicating effectively with the doctor, front office, and other team members Assisting with general clinical and office needs as necessary Maintaining accurate and organized patient information within the dental software Qualifications We are looking for a candidate who is: Dependable and punctual Friendly, professional, and patient-focused Organized with strong attention to detail Able to communicate effectively with patients and coworkers Comfortable working as part of a team Able to manage multiple responsibilities and stay on task Willing to learn and take direction Committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional clinical environment At least 1-2 years of dental assisting experience is preferred Experience with the following is also preferred: Dentrix SOTA Imaging Digital dental X-rays Dental sterilization and infection control procedures Compensation Pay and Benefits are based on experience.
