Dental Assistant (DA) – PPO Dental Office | $18–$24/hr | Bakersfield, CAJob Overview Join our growing PPO dental practice in Bakersfield as a Dental Assistant and become part of a friendly, patient-focused team committed to providing exceptional dental care. Our office focuses on PPO and fee-for-service patients, allowing us to deliver quality dentistry in a positive, supportive environment. We are looking for a dependable, energetic, and compassionate Dental Assistant who enjoys helping patients feel comfortable while supporting the doctor in delivering outstanding clinical care. Compensation $18–$24 per hour , based on experience Full-time or part-time opportunities available Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up materials, and ensuring all equipment is ready for patient care. Provide chairside assistance during a variety of general dentistry procedures, including fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions, root canals, and other restorative treatments. Take quality digital dental radiographs while following all California radiation safety guidelines. Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols. Accurately document treatment notes and update patient records using Open Dental (experience is a plus). Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative instructions, and the importance of recommended treatment. Reinforce the doctor's treatment recommendations in a professional, friendly manner to help patients understand their treatment options. Help create an exceptional patient experience by ensuring patients feel comfortable, informed, and valued throughout their visit. Work collaboratively with the entire dental team to maintain an efficient schedule and excellent patient care. Qualifications Previous Dental Assistant experience required. California Dental X-Ray Certification required. Coronal Polishing and Pit & Fissure Sealant certifications are a plus but not required. Experience with Open Dental is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
