Dental Assistant - Mountain West Periodontal - Grand Junction, CO

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Surgical Dental Assistant to join our periodontal practice 4 days per week (Tues-Fri). Our office focuses on periodontal and implant surgery in a professional, patient-centered environment. We are looking for someone who is organized, compassionate, and works well as part of a team. Candidates must have the ability to educate and communicate information to patients, including accurate documentation to referring offices. We are a specialty office that requires exceptional care and attention to detail. Responsibilities include the following Assist the Doctor during a variety of treatments, exams, & procedures Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written form Take radiographs, photos and CBCT exams and upload to patient chart Perform the setup and breakdown of all operatory equipment, instruments, and documents Maintain accurate dental charts and documentation, updating patient records and treatment plans Provide post-operative instructions to patients and offer assistance with follow-up care Uphold infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment areas Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited dental assistant program Current BLS certification Previous experience in periodontics or a related field is helpful, but not required Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; attention to detail is a must Proficient writing skills are a must Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Employee discount Paid time off Paid training Education: High school or equivalent (Required) Experience: Dental assisting: 1 year (Required) License/Certification: X-Ray Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
