Dental Insurance Coordinator — Full-Time Raleigh, NC Our established private dental practice is looking for an experienced, highly organized Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our team. We are a growing private dental practice in Raleigh focused on providing exceptional, comprehensive care while creating an experience that makes patients feel genuinely cared for. Our approach goes beyond traditional dentistry and includes comprehensive restorative care, implants, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, airway and sleep-focused dentistry, and integrative dental care. We are primarily a fee-for-service/out-of-network practice and file insurance as a courtesy for our patients. Because of this, our Insurance Coordinator plays an extremely important role in helping patients understand their benefits while ensuring claims are submitted accurately, followed through to completion, and collected in a timely manner. What You'll Be Responsible For The Insurance Coordinator will take ownership of the insurance side of our revenue cycle, including: Verifying dental insurance benefits and obtaining accurate benefit breakdowns Entering and maintaining insurance information within the practice management system Preparing accurate benefit estimates for patients Submitting clean insurance claims promptly Attaching appropriate documentation, narratives, radiographs, and supporting records Tracking outstanding claims and following up consistently until resolved Working insurance aging reports and preventing claims from becoming unnecessarily aged Handling claim denials, rejected claims, appeals, and requests for additional information Posting insurance payments and EOBs accurately Identifying underpayments or discrepancies and following up when necessary Communicating clearly with patients regarding insurance benefits and estimated patient responsibility Helping patients understand the difference between insurance coverage and recommended treatment Communicating with insurance companies by phone when necessary to resolve outstanding issues Collaborating closely with our Financial Coordinator, clinical team, and doctors Monitoring insurance-related KPIs and identifying opportunities to improve our systems The Person We're Looking For This position requires someone who is extremely detail-oriented and takes pride in finishing what they start. You may be a great fit if you: Have previous dental insurance or dental front-office experience Understand dental terminology, CDT codes, claims, EOBs, deductibles, annual maximums, frequencies, and limitations Are comfortable navigating both in-network and out-of-network insurance benefits Are persistent and don't allow unresolved claims to simply sit on an aging report Catch small details before they become expensive problems Communicate confidently and professionally with patients and insurance companies Are comfortable having conversations about money Can prioritize independently without needing constant direction Enjoy creating organized systems and improving processes Take ownership when something goes wrong and work toward a solution Are comfortable learning new technology and practice-management systems Want to be part of a team that is actively growing and improving Experience with dental insurance is strongly preferred. Dental experience is especially important for this position because we are looking for someone who can take ownership of the role rather than simply perform administrative tasks. What You'll Find Here We're not looking for someone who simply wants another front-desk job. We're building a practice that is continually evolving, adopting new technology, expanding the services we provide, and developing a team of people who want to grow with us. You'll work with a supportive clinical and administrative team in a modern private-practice environment where great ideas are welcomed and team members are encouraged to take ownership of their roles. Schedule: Full-time, primarily Monday–Friday Location: Raleigh, NC Compensation: Competitive hourly compensation based on dental insurance experience and demonstrated ability If you're organized, persistent, dependable, and take pride in making sure things are done correctly from beginning to end, we'd love to meet you. To apply, please submit your resume along with a short note telling us why you think you'd be a great fit for our office. Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour Work Location: In person
