Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Chattanooga, TN

Signature Surgical and Sedation Solutions, PLLC is seeking an experienced Surgical Dental Assistant to join a traveling team providing dentoalveolar surgery, implant procedures, and IV moderate-sedation support at partner dental offices throughout the Chattanooga region. This is a part-time, PRN-style W-2 position with variable weekday surgical shifts. The ideal candidate is an experienced dental assistant who is comfortable with oral surgery, implants, sterile technique, surgical equipment, and taking ownership of setup through end-of-day breakdown. Compensation & Schedule $30/hour weekday base rate +$5/hour when the Company first offers a shift less than 72 hours before the scheduled start 6-hour minimum pay for qualifying confirmed surgical shifts $50 travel stipend per qualifying surgical day Late-cancellation protection for qualifying Company cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice Weekday schedule Early starts and extended surgical days may occur Travel to Tennessee Host Offices generally within a 60-mile radius of downtown Chattanooga ; actual driving distance may exceed 60 miles Required orientation and training are paid Primary Responsibilities Prepare operatories, surgical equipment, instruments, and sterile fields. Provide efficient chairside surgical assistance, including suction, retraction, irrigation, instrument transfer, material preparation, and aseptic support. Assist with surgical extractions, impacted third molars, dental implants, bone grafting, and related procedures. Load, transport, stage, test, break down, and secure Company equipment and supplies. Coordinate surgical turnover, point-of-use instrument containment, sterilization/reprocessing logistics, and sharps safety. Maintain implant components, inventory, and lot/expiration tracking. Assist with patient positioning, non-diagnostic history confirmation, written postoperative instructions, escort verification, and recovery logistics as directed. Complete required time, inventory, equipment, checklist, and incident documentation. Promptly identify and report equipment, safety, medication, exposure, or patient concerns. Required Qualifications 2+ years of chairside dental assisting experience with meaningful oral-surgery, implant, or other surgical-procedure exposure. Current Tennessee dental-assistant registration and any additional certification required for assigned duties. Current qualifying in-person BLS/CPR-AED certification with skills testing. Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, infection control, sterile technique, operatory turnover, and sharps safety. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to regional Host Offices. Ability to safely assist with equipment and supplies and perform the physical functions required for surgical assisting. Dependability, professionalism, attention to detail, and sound safety judgment. Strongly Preferred Experience with the following: Impacted third-molar surgery Dental implants Bone grafting PRF Full-mouth extractions IV-sedation workflows Mobile or multi-operatory surgical equipment and inventory This position is particularly well suited for an experienced surgical dental assistant seeking supplemental weekday clinical work with a focused oral-surgery and implant team.
