Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, orthodontic, prosthodontic, endodontic, periodontal, oral surgery, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring sterilization protocols are strictly followed. Take and record vital signs and medical history to support accurate patient assessment and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote long-term oral health. Handle administrative duties including scheduling appointments, managing dental receptionist tasks, and verifying insurance information. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards. Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure in the state of practice. Proven experience in general dentistry with familiarity in specialties such as orthodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, pediatric dentistry, and oral surgery. Proficiency with dental software platforms like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation standards. Ability to perform patient assessments including vital signs collection and medical history review accurately. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Experience working in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with a focus on patient-centered care.
