Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Lafayette, CO

Dental Hygienist â Airway, Breathing & Sleep Focused Private Practice Are you a dental hygienist who believes there is more to oral health than simply cleaning teeth? We are a private general dental practice looking for an exceptional dental hygienist who is passionate about whole-person health, airway, breathing, and sleep and wants to grow in this area of dentistry. Our practice is incorporating principles of airway health, nasal breathing, oral function, and sleep-disordered breathing into the way we evaluate and educate our patients. We are particularly interested in candidates who are familiar withâor excited to learn more aboutâthe concepts taught by Dr. Soroush Zaghi and the expanding field of airway-focused dentistry. This is an opportunity for a hygienist who wants to be part of a practice that thinks beyond traditional dentistry and is committed to identifying factors that may affect a patient's oral and overall health. What We Are Looking For We are looking for a hygienist who: Has a genuine interest in airway, breathing, sleep, and oral-systemic health Is curious about the connection between oral health, oral function, nasal breathing, and sleep Is passionate about patient education and helping patients understand their oral health Is willing and excited to pursue continuing education in airway and sleep-related concepts Understands the importance of thorough periodontal assessment and comprehensive preventive care Takes the time to provide a complete, high-quality hygiene appointment Does not believe in cutting corners or rushing through patient care Is comfortable discussing findings with patients and communicating concerns to the dentist Wants to build long-term relationships with patients rather than simply âgetting throughâ the schedule Is a team player who communicates well with the dentist and the rest of the team Is motivated to continually improve their clinical knowledge and skills Has experience using Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) or the interest in learning how to use the GBT machine to help patients with their oral health. Experience with airway dentistry, myofunctional concepts, sleep-disordered breathing, oral dysfunction, or related continuing education is a plusâbut it is not required. The most important thing is that you are genuinely interested in this area and excited to learn. Our Philosophy We believe dental hygiene should be about much more than scaling and polishing. Our hygienists are an important part of the patient's overall health-care team. We want our patients to leave their appointments understanding why their oral health matters and what they can do to improve it. We are developing a practice culture that looks at patients more comprehensively, including questions surrounding: Nasal vs. mouth breathing Airway and breathing patterns Sleep quality and sleep-related concerns Oral habits and function Tongue posture and oral function Periodontal health Orofacial development and function Patient-specific risk factors How oral findings may relate to broader health concerns We are looking for someone who finds these concepts interesting and excitingânot outside the scope of what they want to learn. Our Clinical Expectations We are not an accelerated hygiene practice. We believe quality dentistry takes time. Our hygienists are expected to use their scheduled appointment time appropriately and provide thorough, individualized care. We do not want patients rushed through appointments or clinical steps skipped simply to stay ahead of the schedule. We value: Thoroughness over speed. Quality over quantity. Education over simply âcleaning teeth.â Long-term patient relationships over production at all costs. Our hygienists are also expected to take ownership of their patient relationships and participate in appropriate continuing care recommendations and scheduling. What We Offer 4-day work week Every other weekend is a 4-day weekend Established and loyal patient base Supportive, collaborative team Private practice environment Strong emphasis on continuing education Opportunity to learn and grow in airway, breathing, and sleep-focused concepts A practice that values clinical excellence and patient education An opportunity to help shape the development of an airway-conscious dental practice Who Will Thrive Here? This position is probably not the right fit if you are looking for a fast-paced hygiene schedule where the goal is simply to get patients in and out. It may be an excellent fit if you are the hygienist who finds yourself asking: âWhy does this patient breathe through their mouth?â âCould their sleep or breathing be affecting their oral health?â âWhat else can I learn about this?â âHow can I better educate my patients?â If those questions genuinely interest you, we would love to meet you. We are looking for a hygienist who wants to grow with our practice and become an integral part of our vision for comprehensive, airway-conscious dentistry. If this sounds like you⦠Please apply and tell us why airway, breathing, and sleep interest you and what you would like to learn more about. We are much more interested in your curiosity, passion, and willingness to learn than in whether you already have every airway certification. Pay: $60.00 - $67.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
