Chairside Dental AssistantJob Overview Weâre looking for a dependable and personable Chairside Dental Assistant to join our team. Youâll work closely with the dentist to keep appointments running smoothly, help patients feel comfortable, and maintain clean, organized treatment rooms. The right person is attentive, communicates well, and takes pride in providing a great patient experience. Weâre looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team and is comfortable in a busy general dentistry practice that treats patients of all ages. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before each appointment. Assist the dentist during restorative procedures, crowns, extractions, root canals, and other general dental treatments. Take digital X-rays and 3D scans using proper technique and safety protocols. Welcome patients, review and update their medical histories, and help them feel comfortable throughout their visits. Clearly explain procedures and post-treatment instructions. Enter accurate clinical notes and treatment information into Dentrix. Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain treatment rooms according to infection-control standards. Use intraoral cameras, digital scanners, and other dental technology. Monitor clinical supplies and help keep operatories organized and well stocked. Assist with scheduling, answering phones, or other front-office responsibilities when needed. Protect patient privacy and follow all HIPAA and office safety policies. Qualifications Previous chairside dental assisting experience is preferred. Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental software is helpful. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, digital X-rays, sterilization, and infection-control practices. Comfortable assisting with a variety of general dentistry procedures. Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized in a busy environment. Friendly, professional, and able to communicate comfortably with patients and team members. Dependable, willing to learn, and committed to providing excellent patient care.
