Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Take and develop X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols. Manage patient records and medical documentation, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans. Perform chairside assisting duties, including suctioning and instrument handling. Conduct vital signs checks as needed and assist in medical imaging procedures. Maintain an aseptic technique throughout all dental procedures to ensure patient safety. Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in areas such as general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient patient management. Requirements 2 + years consistent experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology and procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and medical documentation practices. Understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in taking X-rays and operating 3D scanners is a plus. Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology related to dental care. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
