Primary Accountabilities The Orthodontic Dental Assistant is responsible for helping with preparing patients, sterilizing instruments, setting up stations, and orthodontic tasks. To do well in this role you should have a great level of patient care. Major Duties: Prepares patients for orthodontic work. Helps with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments. Assists providers with procedures like Invisalign, observation and retainer checks. Records treatment information in patient records. Forms impressions for study casts and appliances. Take records on patients (iCat, iTero and photos). Educates patients and parents on proper oral hygiene and care of orthodontic appliances during and after treatment. Traveling to other offices to assist doctors in seeing patients. Excellent teamwork. Provides great patient care. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must have experience using computers for a variety of tasks. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills. Must consistently maintain professional appearance and attitude. Must possess the ability to provide great patient care. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, type and see. The employee is frequently required to walk and is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
