Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team two days per week.

The ideal candidate is clinically thorough, gentle, organized, and committed to building trusted relationships with patients. This position is well suited for a hygienist who values prevention, patient education, teamwork, and thoughtful, quality-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive periodontal assessments

• Provide adult prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing

• Take digital dental radiographs as prescribed

• Apply fluoride and sealants when appropriate

• Review patients’ medical and dental histories

• Educate patients about oral hygiene, periodontal health, prevention, and home care

• Help patients understand the connection between oral and overall health

• Support individualized care for older adults and patients with changing health needs

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Follow infection-control, OSHA, and patient-safety standards

• Communicate clinical findings clearly with the dentist and dental team

• Help create a comfortable, informed, and positive patient experience

• Ensure infection prevention measures are strictly followed, including sterilization of dental equipment and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing

• Current CPR/BLS certification

• Strong knowledge of periodontal and preventive care

• Excellent clinical, communication, and patient-education skills

• Gentle, empathetic, and respectful approach to patient care

• Dependable, organized, and collaborative

• Committed to professional integrity and continued learning
