Biological Dental Assistant (RDA preferred) — Fee-for-Service Practice in Newbury Park, CA
Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Thousand Oaks, CA

BioDental Healing is a biological dental practice in Newbury Park, serving patients from Ventura County, greater Los Angeles, and out of state. We are looking for a dental assistant who wants to understand why we do things, not just how.
What kind of practice this is
We are metal-free, fluoride-free, and ozone-integrated. This practice has served the community for decades, and our biological training lineage traces back to Dr. Hal Huggins. Our clinical team is IAOMT and IABDM trained, and every decision runs through one question: will this reduce or contribute to inflammation?
We are also fee-for-service. We do not accept dental insurance. That shapes the pace of the day — longer appointments, fewer patients, more conversation. If you are coming from a high-volume office, this will feel different.
Small team, cross-trained
We are a small, mission-driven team, and that is the job's biggest advantage. You will be cross-trained across the practice rather than boxed into one seat: chairside, sterilization, imaging, patient education, and front-office workflow. Everyone here understands the whole operation. That takes initiative and a willingness to learn outside your job description, and in return you get exposure most assistants never get in a larger office.
What you would be doing
- Chairside assisting for safe amalgam removal under SMART protocol, ceramic implant placement, biological extractions, and ozone therapies
- Cone beam imaging and bitewings, with strict attention to taking only the images we need
- Setup, breakdown, and sterilization to a standard that holds up to scrutiny
- Charting and clinical documentation in Oryx
- Helping patients understand what is happening and why, in plain language
- Daily 8:15 AM morning huddle, protected 12:30–1:30 lunch
Schedule
Monday through Thursday, full days. Half day on Friday. No weekends.
What we are looking for
- Current California Radiation Safety, Infection Control, and Dental Practice Act certifications; RDA license preferred
- Current BLS/CPR
- Chairside experience; surgical assisting experience is a strong plus
- Comfort with digital charting and imaging software
- Genuine curiosity about the oral-systemic connection. Prior biological or holistic experience is welcome but not required — we will train the right person on our protocols
- Accountability, follow-through, and the ability to work without being managed minute to minute
What we offer
- $23 - $30
- Benefits: PTO, holidays.
- Cross-training across every part of the practice
- Continuing education in biological dentistry and room to grow with the practice
If this resonates, we would like to hear from you. Please include a short note about why biological dentistry interests you along with your resume.
