Part-Time Experienced Dental Assistant or RDAEF – West Los Angeles (General & Periodontics)

* Part-Time (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays)

Required Experience & Responsibilities
We are looking for a candidate who is proficient in both standard dental assisting duties.
Your core experience should include:
Periodontal & General Chairside Assisting
* Surgical & Perio Assisting: Experience assisting in periodontal therapies, crown lengthening, bone grafts, dental implants.
* Chairside Assisting: Expertise in efficient four-handed dentistry across both general restorative and specialized periodontal procedures.
* Patient Comfort & Prep: Experience preparing sterile surgical or restorative treatment rooms, managing sterile fields, and providing clear post-operative instructions for perio and general cases.
Extended Functions & Advanced Clinical Skills (RDAEF)
* Restorative Procedures: Experience placing, contouring, and finishing composite (tooth-colored) restorations and amalgam fillings.
* Cord Placement & Impressions: Proficiency in gingival cord retraction and taking final impressions for permanent restorations (crowns, bridges, implant crowns).
* Prosthodontics: Experience fabricating, adjusting, and cementing temporary crowns or bridges.
* Hands-on experience with software for charting, treatment planning, and checking patient notes.
* Imaging: High proficiency in taking accurate digital X-rays, FMX series (crucial for perio tracking), and intraoral photos.

Qualifications & Skills:
* Active California RDA or RDAEF license (RDAEF2 preferred for advanced functions).
* Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a General or Periodontal practice strongly preferred.
* Proven proficiency with Open Dental software.
* Current X-ray license and Coronal Polish certification.
* Valid CPR/BLS certification.
* Strong communication skills with a professional, calming chairside manner.
