Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, familiarity with dental terminology, and the ability to assist in both general and specialized dentistry, including pediatric dentistry. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing chairside support and ensuring a sterile environment through aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations. Manage patient records and documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Open Dental. Prepare treatment rooms for procedures, including sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary materials. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as required during patient visits. Maintain infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with knowledge of general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Proficiency in using EMR systems; familiarity with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, infection control practices, and anatomy knowledge. Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques is highly desirable. Ability to perform essential tasks such as taking vital signs, conducting medical documentation, and managing medical records effectively. Knowledge of 3D scanning technology is an advantage but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential for success in this role.
