Position Overview
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
- Take dental radiographs (x-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate health records documenting all treatments, observations, and medical information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Ensure infection prevention protocols are followed meticulously, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment
- Support the dental team with equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth daily operations
- Monitor patient vital signs during visits to ensure safety throughout procedures
- Uphold patient confidentiality at all times while managing medical records with professionalism and integrity
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software Dentrix for documentation and scheduling management
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Expertise in healthcare infection prevention and control, including sterilization processes and aseptic techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing clear explanations about dental care procedures and education
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple patient appointments efficiently while maintaining high standards of care
