Part-time Dental Hygienist - Join our Sterling Heights, MI practice

We are looking for a friendly, energetic, dependable RDH to join our busy pediatric dental 3 days a week; Wednesdays and Fridays are a must. Looking for candidates who enjoy working with children and can handle behavioral issues. We will train at entry level If we find the right candidate.

Job Type

10 to 18 hours per week
Wed 8:30 to 1; Friday 8:30 to 2; additional days are negotiable.
Rate of pay starting at $40+

Responsibilities

-Prepares treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols
-Prepares patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping patient
-Provides information to patients and parents by answering questions and requests
-Takes xrays and is comfortable with digital equipment
-Selects materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient's oral health
-Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins
-Arrests dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity- preventing agents
-Educates patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
-Documents dental hygiene services by charting in patient records; assessing treatment; and scheduling recare appointments
-Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
-Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
-Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols

Experience

We welcome recent grads
Pediatric dental hygiene experience preferred not required
Eaglesoft software experience preferred not required

Education/Licenses

High school or equivalent required
Dental Hygiene Degree
RDH License
CPR certification
X-ray certification
