Job Summary Dental Assistant – Pediatric Dentistry Join a team that makes going to the dentist a positive experience for kids! We’re looking for a friendly, dependable, and skilled Dental Assistant to join our pediatric dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you’ll work closely with our dentists and team to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care while helping create a fun and comfortable experience for our young patients. What You’ll Do Assist the dentist during examinations, treatment, and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and turn over treatment rooms, including sterilizing instruments and maintaining appropriate supplies. Take dental X-rays and follow all applicable radiation safety and infection-control protocols. Provide chairside support while helping children feel comfortable, calm, and confident during their visits. Review and document patient medical histories, treatment information, and clinical notes accurately. Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Follow OSHA, infection-control, and HIPAA requirements to maintain a safe and compliant environment. Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental software. Assist with scheduling, patient communication, and other front-office tasks when needed. Work as part of a team to keep the clinical schedule running smoothly and provide an exceptional patient experience. What We’re Looking For Previous dental assisting experience preferred. Pediatric dental experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right candidate. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and clinical procedures. Experience taking dental radiographs/X-rays. Familiarity with four-handed dentistry. Comfortable learning and using dental practice-management software such as Dentrix. Strong communication and organizational skills. A positive, patient, and compassionate approach to working with children. Ability to stay calm, organized, and efficient in a busy clinical environment. Reliable team player who takes initiative and takes pride in their work.
