Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including composites, crown and bridge, extractions, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Take accurate radiographs ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical privacy Manage patient records electronically using Dentrix ensuring accurate documentation of medical history and treatment plans Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices in a friendly, professional manner Qualifications Valid certification as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration in accordance with state requirements X-ray Certification Coronal Polishing Certification Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry setting Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Proficiency with Dentrix software Ability to comfortably take accurate dental impressions for crowns and dentures etc... Must be proficient in four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency during procedures Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and dental coding standards for accurate documentation and billing Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages.
