As we continue to grow, Dr. Jimmy Martineau is looking for an experienced clinical leader who can work closely with him to strengthen, refine, and scale our clinical systems while preserving the quality of care and positive culture that define our practice. This is an opportunity for an exceptional orthodontic assistant to have a meaningful role in the continued growth of the practiceânot simply by completing clinical tasks, but by helping lead the team, reinforce our standards, and develop systems that will serve us well into the future. About the Position The Clinical Coordinator will work directly with Dr. Martineau to ensure that his clinical standards and vision are carried out consistently throughout the practice. This person will remain actively involved in patient care while also providing day-to-day leadership for the clinical team. The Clinical Coordinator will help optimize workflows, train and support team members, maintain clear expectations, and ensure that the clinic operates efficiently as patient volume and the clinical team grow. We are looking for someone who is confident in their orthodontic abilities, understands how a well-run clinic should function, and can help bring consistency to every aspect of the patient experience. Primary Responsibilities - Orthodontic Patient Care Provide highly skilled chairside orthodontic assistance Assist with bonding, debonding, appliance delivery, adjustments, emergencies, and other orthodontic procedures Take accurate digital scans, photographs, radiographs, and clinical records Prepare thoroughly for each patient and anticipate the doctorâs clinical needs Clearly explain elastics, oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment instructions Recognize clinical concerns and communicate them promptly to Dr. Martineau Maintain excellent infection-control, sterilization, and patient-safety standards Provide patients and parents with a warm, confident, and professional experience Clinical Leadership Coordinate the daily clinical flow and help the team remain on schedule Review upcoming schedules and prepare for special procedures, appliances, and patient needs Lead or support daily clinical huddles Provide clear direction and support to the clinical assisting team Train and onboard new clinical team members Help assistants improve their clinical skills, efficiency, communication, and confidence Reinforce established clinical protocols and expectations Promote teamwork, accountability, and respectful communication Communicate team needs, clinical concerns, and opportunities for improvement directly to Dr. Martineau Lead by example through professionalism, consistency, humility, and a willingness to help Systems and Continued Growth Collaborate with Dr. Martineau to strengthen and refine existing clinical systems Help adapt workflows and protocols as the practice and clinical team grow Turn established clinical standards into clear, repeatable processes Help document protocols, checklists, training materials, and clinical expectations Identify opportunities to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality or patient care Support the thoughtful implementation of new technology, procedures, and services Help ensure that improvements are communicated, implemented, and consistently followed Maintain alignment between the doctorâs clinical vision and the teamâs daily execution Clinical Organization Monitor clinical supplies and maintain appropriate inventory Coordinate laboratory cases and ensure appliances are received and ready before appointments Oversee operatory preparation, sterilization, equipment care, and clinical organization Help maintain clinical equipment and coordinate servicing when needed Ensure clinical areas remain clean, stocked, organized, and prepared for patient care Maintain clear accountability for opening, closing, and routine clinical responsibilities Required Qualifications Advanced orthodontic assisting experience Strong proficiency in orthodontic procedures, appliances, instruments, materials, and terminology Ability to work efficiently and confidently in a busy orthodontic environment Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to train, coach, and respectfully hold team members accountable A systems-oriented mindset and an interest in continuous improvement Ability to take initiative while remaining aligned with the doctorâs direction and clinical standards Dependability, punctuality, adaptability, and attention to detail Professional and confident communication with patients, parents, and team members Current certifications required to perform assigned clinical duties in Utah General dental assisting experience alone is not sufficient for this position. Applicants must be highly trained and experienced specifically in orthodontic assisting. Spanish-speaking ability is a strong plus.
