Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Scottsdale, AZ

We are a boutique, fee-for-service dental practice in North Scottsdale. We're 100% out-of-network with insurance by design. We're a small, close-knit team (currently one dentist, one assistant, one front desk coordinator) where everyone is cross-trained to support each other, and we're growing. We're looking for an experienced Dental Front Desk Coordinator to be the first and last voice our patients hear â someone warm, sharp with details, and comfortable explaining our out-of-network/courtesy-billing model with confidence. This role also cross-trains to assist chairside and with basic sterilization support when needed, so no two days look exactly the same. This is not a typical insurance-heavy front desk role. Because we're fee-for-service, there are no claims to chase or insurance pre-authorizations to fight for â instead, you'll focus on patient experience, scheduling, collections, and making our courtesy billing process feel effortless for patients. What You'll Do Front Desk (Primary Role) Greet patients and manage the check-in/check-out experience Answer phones, manage scheduling, and confirm appointments Collect payment at time of service and process courtesy billing claim submissions Present treatment plan costs clearly and help patients understand their options (payment plans, financing, insurance reimbursement expectations) Maintain accurate patient records and manage day-to-day reconciliation Cross-Trained Support (As Needed) Basic sterilization support (bagging, instrument turnover) when the assistant needs backup Chairside seating/prep support in a pinch General flexibility to help wherever the day requires it â we're a small team and we look out for each other What We're Looking For Prior dental front desk experience required â you should already be comfortable with dental terminology, scheduling logic, and patient financial conversations Experience with a practice management software (any major system â we'll train you on ours) Comfortable explaining financial policies clearly and confidently, without being thrown off by insurance questions A team-first mindset â willingness to learn other roles and step in when needed Excellent communication skills and a genuinely warm, patient-focused demeanor Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a small-practice environment where your work is visible and valued 32 hours per week with potential to expand in the future Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 â 36.0 per week Experience: Dental receptionist: 2 years (Required) Work Location: In person
