Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to assist in various dental procedures. SIGN ON BONUS available. Responsibilities Perform expanded functions such as coronal polish, placement of temporary restorations, and other duties authorized by state regulations. Assist dentist & hygienists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records using Open Dental Software. Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans and post-operative care. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure seamless patient flow within the practice, stellar customer service, and scheduling appointments. Experience Previous experience as a Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with general dentistry practices and pediatric dentistry is an asset. Proficient understanding of medical documentation and record management. Experience with Open Dental or similar dental practice management software is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures to effectively assist the dental team. Dental Radiology Certification is required. Previous experience in the EFDA role along with EFDA license is required. We welcome new EFDA graduates to apply.
