Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Pearland, TX

Overview We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and dependable Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team. We welcome new dental assistant graduates who are eager to learn and build their skills in a supportive clinical environment. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist and clinical team in providing excellent patient care while helping ensure efficient and organized daily operations. This position will involve assisting with a variety of dental procedures, taking dental X-rays, performing sealants and polishing, sterilizing instruments, preparing treatment rooms, and providing a positive experience for our patients. We use Dentrix Ascend for our dental practice management system. Duties Assist the dentist and dental team during a variety of dental procedures. Take and process dental X-rays , including digital radiographs. Perform sealants and polishing as permitted by applicable state regulations and training. Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient procedures. Assist with patient charting and accurately document treatment information. Maintain proper infection control and sterilization procedures. Sterilize and disinfect instruments and treatment areas according to OSHA and office protocols. Prepare dental materials and assist the dentist during procedures. Provide patients with instructions regarding oral hygiene and post-treatment care as directed by the dentist. Take impressions, scans, or other diagnostic records as needed and within the scope of training/licensure. Monitor and maintain dental supplies and clinical inventory. Keep operatories clean, organized, and properly stocked. Enter and update patient information in Dentrix Ascend . Help create a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients. Communicate effectively with the dentist, hygienist, front desk, and other members of the dental team. Follow all office, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection-control policies and procedures. Requirements Dental Assisting education or completion of a dental assisting program is preferred. New graduates are encouraged to apply! Previous dental assisting experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. Ability to take dental X-rays and willingness to learn additional clinical skills. Experience or training with sealants and polishing is a plus. Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures. Experience with Dentrix Ascend is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Friendly, professional, and compassionate communication style. Ability to work well as part of a team in a busy dental office. Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
