Our modern boutique orthodontics practice is looking for a clinical dental assistant who meets these criteria! First and foremost your job is to make sure our patients have a stellar experience every time they come see us. You must be RELIABLE (come to work on time every day you are scheduled), professional, and have a can-do attitude. You must be able to remain poised under pressure and multi-task. Accuracy and diligence in follow-through and attention to detail are essential. A team-player mentality is a must! *************************************************************************************** The ideal candidate is a New York State licensed Registered Dental Assistant, currently training to become one, or open to take the required courses and exams to become one. In order to be considered a RDA you must have: 1. Graduated from an accredited assisting program, have 2. Passed all exams of the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB), and 3. Have a valid RDA license number in New York State Applicants who are dental assistants who qualify for a Limited Permit will also be considered. **************************************************************************************** TO APPLY PLEASE: 1. We see patients 3 days a week with 1-2 administrative days, the ideal candidate is looking to work 3-4 days a week, although there is flexibility for more or less for the ideal candidate. BE SURE THAT THIS OFFICE LOCATION, IN MANHATTAN, WORKS FOR YOU. **************************************************************************************** Responsibilities: - Getting to the office before the first patient appointment to prepare for the day - Setting operatories up with necessary materials and infection control barriers prior to procedures - Seating patients with a warm smile and friendly engagement - Taking diagnostic photos, iTero 3D scans, radiographs - Tying and untying arch wires, placing open coils and power chains, etc. - Assisting with braces bonding - Completing indirect bonding independently - Working with custom digital orthodontic systems like LightForce and inBrace lingual braces - Placing clear aligner attachments - Giving patient instructions - Tracking and submitting lab work - Taking alginate impressions - Pouring models, making essix retainers, minor lab work - Taking dictation for and typing chart notes--fast touch typing skills (you can type accurately without looking at the keyboard) are a PLUS! - Stocking and organizing instruments in operatories, monitoring inventory and ordering supplies - Sterilizing instruments, monitoring spore tests - Preparing chairs in between patients - Removing composite/attachments from teeth (if a Registered Dental Hygienist) - Helping to tidy the clinical area and office at the end of the day, general housekeeping - Doing what it takes to help the team run a smooth, stress-free, and on-time patient schedule - Helping at the front desk when needed This position can be three to four days a week; a fifth day is possible with administrative duties.
