About Hess Family Dentistry Hess Family Dentistry is a private, single doctor family-focused general practice in the South Hills. We emphasize trustworthy, minimally invasive care and genuine patient relationships. We’re looking for someone who fits well with a positive, collaborative team and who enjoys both the front desk and helping patients feel comfortable throughout their visit. The Role We’re adding a third receptionist/rover to support an upcoming maternity leave. During the leave, this position will be primarily front desk (scheduling, phones, check-in/check-out, and patient communication). After the leave, one of our current receptionists will shift more toward insurance and payment posting, and this role will continue as a flexible rover with strong front-desk responsibilities. This is not a temporary coverage position. We’re especially looking for someone strong in scheduling and treatment plan phasing/coordination with patients. What You’ll Do Front Desk (majority of the role, especially during maternity leave): Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out Schedule and confirm appointments efficiently Answer phones and handle patient inquiries professionally Help coordinate treatment plans and phased scheduling with patients Verify insurance information and assist with financial arrangements as needed Keep the schedule full and flowing while protecting production goals Work in Dentrix Rover / Clinical Support (as needed): Seat patients and prepare them for the doctor or hygienist Take radiographs (if certified) Assist with patient flow between the front desk and clinical areas as needed Support the team so the day runs smoothly What We’re Looking For Previous dental front desk or dental office experience strongly preferred Comfortable and accurate with scheduling and treatment plan discussions Experience with Dentrix or other dental software is a plus Ability (or willingness) to take radiographs — DANB RHS certification preferred or willingness to obtain it Warm, professional, and organized with excellent phone and in-person communication skills Reliable, team-oriented, and able to flex between front desk and clinical support High school diploma or equivalent Nice to Have Experience presenting treatment plans or coordinating multi-visit care Comfort working in a busy, productive, patient-focused private practice Why Join Us You’ll join a stable, family-oriented practice that values personal connections with patients and a supportive team environment.
