Job Summary As a Periodontist, you’ll assess and treat conditions affecting the gums and supporting structures of the teeth. You’ll develop care plans, perform periodontal procedures, and coordinate with dental colleagues to support patients’ oral health. Your impact: Accurate assessment and coordinated treatment help patients understand their options and receive appropriate, consistent care. Duties Conduct patient assessments, review medical records and imaging, and make dental diagnoses using relevant anatomy knowledge and dental and medical terminology. Provide periodontal care, including dental implants, dental extractions, oral surgery, and coordination with general dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, endodontics, root canal therapy, and pediatric dentistry as appropriate. Explain findings and treatment options clearly, communicate with patients and clients, and document care in medical records. Work with dental teams using four-handed dentistry; follow aseptic technique, infection control practices, HIPAA requirements, and applicable state healthcare regulations. Use dental office systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix, and collaborate with colleagues in dental clinics and related specialties. Requirements Required: Appropriate periodontist licensure for the work location and the ability to provide safe, patient-centered care. Experience with patient care, healthcare diagnosis, medical documentation, medical imaging, and dental diagnosis. Knowledge of anesthesiology, pediatrics, and dental fabrication; familiarity with dental office or dental clinic workflows. Preferred: Experience with Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix and collaboration across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and endodontics.
