Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a compassionate Dental Assistant with a positive mental attitude who knows how to make our patients feel like family.

***** This position is for MONDAY, TUESDAY and THURSDAY only *****

Responsibilities

· Prepare treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials, following prescribed procedures and protocols

· Perform procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.

· Welcome, comfort, seat, and drape patient.

· Provide information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.

· Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist’s access, suctioning, and passing instruments.

· Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient’s mouth.

· Take X-rays, pour, trim, and polish study casts.

· Fabricate temporary restorations and clean and polish removable appliances.

· Maintain CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

· Give oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.

· Chart in patient records.

· Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.

· Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

· Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols.

· Complete preventive maintenance requirements, follow manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshoot malfunctions, call for repairs, maintain equipment inventories, and evaluate new equipment and techniques.

· Check stock to determine inventory level, anticipate needed supplies, place and expedite orders for supplies, and verify receipt of supplies.
