Dental Hygienist - Oceanside Family Dentistry - Middletown, RI

We are a small private practice in search of a Dental Hygienist to join our fantastic team! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while ensuring the highest standards of dental hygiene practices.
Specific job responsibilities of our Dental Hygienists include, but are not limited to:

Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, application of fluoride and sealants
Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
Selection of materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health
Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts using Eaglesoft Software
Scheduling recall appointments
Preparation of treatment rooms, ensuring instruments and equipment are sterile
Breakdown of treatment rooms, ensuring all instruments are returned for sterilization promptly
Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA using Dexis software

Requirements:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Possess a professional and positive attitude
Associate’s degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
Valid license to practice in Rhode Island (Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH)
OSHA and CPR certified
Experience in a dental office setting is preferred
Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills.
Ability to provide compassionate patient care while effectively communicating oral health information.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety within the clinic.
