Dental Assistant - Fox Kids Dentistry & Orthodontics - Portland, OR

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic downtown Portland pediatric dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in various clinical tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties

Assist our dentist during exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
Take digital X-rays, ensuring high-quality images for diagnosis.
Coronal polishing, applying SDF and fluoride, and assisting with sealants.
Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene and preventive care.
Support pediatric patients with care tailored to their unique needs.
Collaborate with the entire dental team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Requirements

Oregon Radiology and Oregon EFDA, EFPDA and/or EFODA certifications (Or out of state equivalent)
Familiarity with Eaglesoft dental software is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing dental records.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
Experience in pediatrics or orthodontics is highly desirable but not mandatory.
A commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients.
