Surgical Assistant needed in our Gilbert, AZ oral surgery office

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a sterile environment. This position requires proficiency in assisting with various surgical tasks, including managing medical records and adhering to infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon during procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Prepare the operating room by ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use.
• Monitor and record vital signs of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to surgical procedures.
• Implement aseptic techniques to prevent infection during surgeries.
• Collaborate with dental receptionists to schedule surgeries and manage patient flow.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols throughout the surgical process.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment with kindness and efficiency.
• Previous experience in a similar assisting role is preferred.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic medical terminology.
• Familiarity with X-Ray procedures.
• Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control measures.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate medical records.
