Dental Hygienist needed in our San Marcos, CA dental office

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental clinic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while ensuring compliance with all health regulations and standards. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient management, and the ability to work efficiently within a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and assessments for patients, including scaling and polishing teeth.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care to promote overall dental health.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist in the management of medical records and documentation of patient treatment plans.
• Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Utilize Eaglesoft or similar systems for scheduling, billing, and maintaining patient information.
• Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies to enhance patient care.

Requirements

• Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
• Experience working in a dental clinic environment is preferred.
• Proficiency in Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Previous experience in dental assisting is advantageous but not mandatory.
