Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. My Emergency Dentist provides emergency care to individuals in need outside of normal business hours. Our patients often present with severe pain and have no where else to go for their urgent dental care. As such, the ideal candidate must be reliable and consistent in attending scheduled shifts so that we can provide essential treatment to our patients.
Duties

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
Take x-rays as needed.
Maintain accurate medical records and patient information.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front office duties as needed, including acting as a dental receptionist when required.
Monitor vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
Support various dental specialties including pediatrics, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more as required by the practice.

ExperienceCandidates should possess prior experience in a dental assisting role or relevant clinical training. Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is essential. Experience with medical records management and knowledge of different dental specialties will be considered an asset. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development is highly encouraged within our practice. If the candidate does not have dental or dental assisting experience, we are happy to offer paid training to the right candidate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
