Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join a well-pace, patient-centric private practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, periodontal scaling and curettage. This role requires a strong commitment to patient assessment and education, which includes oral hygiene instruction to ensure each patient receives the best possible care in a comfortable environment.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, evaluations, and X-rays to determine oral health status.
- Conduct routine periodontal probing and evaluation, oral cancer screening, and preliminary dental screening.
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Perform periodontal scaling and curettage with local anesthesia.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review for each patient visit using dental practice software systems and adhere to HIPAA protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide recommendations for maintaining optimal dental health.
- Ensure the dental clinic is organized, clean, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Perform set up, disinfection, and sterilization of operatory room between patients.
- Collaborate closely with the dental team to develop treatment plans that meet patients' needs and improve patient satisfaction.
- Maintain dental hygiene licensure and continuing education requirements.
Requirements
- Valid dental hygiene license in the state of practice and graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- 3+ years of experience in dental hygiene preferred, with familiarity in a dental clinic setting.
- Experience with administering dental local anesthesia for periodontal scaling and curettage, and administering nitrous oxide.
- Proficient in documentation review and maintaining medical records accurately.
- Office days for availability: Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays (full days); Wednesdays (half days)
- Strong skills in patient care and assessment to ensure quality treatment outcomes.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Familiarity with dental management software.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
