Licensed Dental Hygienist - Northview Dental - Shoreview, MN

Northview Dental in Shoreview has a great opportunity for a motivated and energetic hygienist 3-4 days per week. If you are looking for more hours there is also ample opportunities to fill in on your days off. We are looking for someone who is well-organized, positive and has great communication skills. Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination Sterilize dental instruments properly Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride) Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures Take X-rays Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer) Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Skills Proven experience as Dental Hygienist In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Diploma in Dental Hygiene Valid license to practice Job Type: Part-time Pay: $52.00 - $54.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Flexible spending account Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
