Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical history in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Support infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, managing medical waste, and maintaining a sterile environment. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all procedures are properly coded with medical coding standards for billing purposes. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred. Familiarity with dental office management software such as Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology is essential. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and documentation review processes ensures compliance and accuracy in all clinical activities.
