Experience in pediatric dentistry, infection control, and medical records management is highly valued. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Softdent. Follow infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment. Review medical coding and documentation for billing accuracy and compliance with healthcare standards. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Ensure all dental office procedures adhere to OSHA standards and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Soft Dent but not required. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with pediatric dentistry, including working with children in a clinical setting. Be able to administer anesthetic for scaling and root plaining Ability to accurately measure vital signs and perform patient assessments. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and interpretation. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical records management. Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration. Ability to review documentation for accuracy and compliance with medical coding standards.
