Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current health status to ensure safe treatment planning. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Monitor and record vital signs before procedures to assess patient health status. Assist with chairside procedures, including preparing instruments, managing dental materials, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatment. Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, reviewing medical coding for billing purposes, and managing medical records efficiently. Uphold all safety standards related to infection control, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology to deliver high-quality care aligned with industry best practices. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist within a busy dental office or clinic setting is required. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and practices is a strong advantage. Prior experience in general dentistry environments with exposure to medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and infection control protocols is essential. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes is necessary for success in this role. Experience with pediatric patients is desirable but not mandatory; a passion for working with children is appreciated. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is beneficial but not required if relevant clinical experience is demonstrated.
