Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Dental Assistant with advanced experience to join our clinical team. In this role, you will work closely with our pediatric dentists and assistants to provide high-quality dental care to children, maintaining a fun and energetic experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, leading others and possess strong clinical skills to assist in various dental procedures. Responsibilities · Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques in clinic as well as a general anesthesia setting, such as a hospital or surgery center. · Working side by side with the office manager on dental assistant schedules and assisting protocols. · Ordering dental supplies and completing full inventory of office supplies. · Day to day operation of clinical flow and managing the dentist and assistants. · Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. · Take and record vital signs, medical history, and any relevant patient information in medical records. · Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. · Manage dental instruments and materials, ensuring they are sterilized and organized. · Support the dentist in performing various procedures including general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, and more. · Maintain a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff by adhering to aseptic techniques. · Maintain logs and duties of dental assistants. Experience · Previous experience as a dental assistant is required, particularly in pediatrics however general dentistry or other specialties is acceptable. · Familiarity with medical/dental terminology and infection control practices is essential. · Proficiency in managing dental records and understanding of dental procedures related to children. · Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with young patients and their guardians. · Ability to create and lead a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient care.
