Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Deerfield, IL

Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including scaling and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, medical record documentation review, and medical coding Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Utilize dental terminology accurately when communicating with patients and team members Maintain infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a gentle approach tailored to children Operate dental software systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation and record keeping Collaborate with dentists during procedures such as four-handed dentistry and patient assessment Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Assist in maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control standards Experience Previous experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dental practice is preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical imaging, and medical records management is essential Experience with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, and aseptic technique is beneficial Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and patient care protocols enhances performance in this role Prior exposure to pediatric dentistry or experience working with children is a plus This position offers an engaging environment where your skills will directly contribute to improving patientsâ oral health while supporting the overall success of our practice.
