Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies to promote lifelong dental health. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards. Manage patient records within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining meticulous documentation review and updates. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with exposure to general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical coding practices. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with medical imaging technology is a plus. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing chairside assisting skills and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is desirable for serving our diverse patient population.
