Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is in optimal condition. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical privacy. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, maintaining accurate documentation of treatment plans and medical histories. Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices to promote overall dental wellness. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and compliance with infection control protocols. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation efficiently. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting techniques and terminology. Proficiency with dental software systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic EMR platforms. Familiarity with infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and sterilization standards to prevent cross-contamination. Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining patient safety standards. Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding related to dentistry and pediatrics. Knowledge of advanced imaging technologies such as 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics. Experience supporting general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
