Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Stockdale, TX
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient comfort and safety. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient records and medical histories. Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Utilize Open Dental for efficient record management. Conduct vital signs assessments as needed before procedures. Support pediatric dentistry efforts by creating a welcoming environment for young patients. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment, including 3D scanners. Experience with general dentistry practices as well as specialized fields such as prosthodontics and endodontics is preferred. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable, along with knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Understanding of medical coding and documentation processes is a plus. Experience with Epic or similar electronic medical record systems is beneficial but not mandatory.
