Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental X-rays, adhering to proper aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical documentation, and ensuring smooth clinic operations akin to a dental receptionist role. Maintain infection control standards by following sterilization procedures and adhering to OSHA guidelines. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions using appropriate dental terminology. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments and materials efficiently. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively. Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile environment. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
