Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with dental procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The Dental Assistant will be instrumental in maintaining infection control standards, managing medical documentation, and utilizing advanced dental technology to enhance patient outcomes. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist the dentist during various procedures including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures. Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate documentation in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage patient records and medical documentation while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality. Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and dental terminology. Operate dental imaging equipment and assist with the use of medical imaging tools for diagnosis. Support front desk duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a comfortable environment for young patients. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure the clinic adheres to safety standards related to anatomy knowledge and infection control protocols. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, dental terminology, and infection control practices. Ability to operate X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures, prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental assisting. Excellent communication skills to educate patients about procedures and oral health practices. Certification in radiography or X-ray certification preferred; CPR certification is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
