Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Indio, CA

Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and maintaining accurate medical and dental records. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental office systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare administrative procedures. Prior experience in dental administrative support is highly preferred. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive patient experience Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification using systems Collect payments and perform dental billing and coding tasks and ensuring accurate documentation review Maintain updated patient records in system while adhering to HIPAA regulations Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; schedule appointments and answer patient inquiries Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating medical/dental histories Manage filing of medical records, documentation review, and data entry using Microsoft Office or other office software Support clinic staff with administrative tasks such as front desk management, office management, and health information management Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA standards and proper documentation of care plans Skills Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with office equipment such as multi-line phone systems and 10-key typing Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and patient service orientation Ability to handle insurance verification processes efficiently; knowledge of Medicare and other insurance plans is advantageous Bilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Previous clinic experience or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and office management enhances performance in this role Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and dental billing processes This position offers an engaging environment where your administrative expertise directly contributes to providing quality dental care.
